Flood Insurance: A Deep Dive

This is a MAIA Program.

Flood insurance is complicated.  Over the years legislative changes have required certain flood training so that agents can begin to understand how best to insure our communities against the peril of flood.  However, while the basic and required flood 101 and flood 102 class is only enough to get an insurance agent familiar with flood insurance.

To really understand problem solving techniques that can set you apart from others, “Flood Insurance: Deep Dive” was developed.  It dives into specific issues and topics that dig below the surface of basic flood knowledge.  Learn tips on how to classify the occupancy of buildings.  Learn the latest on lending rules and regulations, including how lenders now look at private flood insurance.  Understand how to use the elevation certificate.  Find ways to use it that make you an advocate that saves money and increases home values for your clients.

The mission of “Flood Insurance: Deep Dive” is to give the agent a complex understanding of flood insurance and floodplain management.  The agent will comprehend the associated stakeholders involved in the transaction of a flood policy, and factors that determine rates, policy types, and other premium related issues.
