On July 15, 2026, Governor Maura Healey signed S2903, An Act Honoring Blue Star Families, creating a new commemorative license plate. Under the new law, the Blue Star Family Plate is available for one passenger plate at no cost to parents, children, siblings, grandchildren, or spouses of Massachusetts law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
